Congratulations to Amy Boddy for successfully defending her dissertation.
July 2012
Our study on the adaptive evolution of dolphin genes, published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B, has recently received some press.
April 2012
Genome of the bonobo Kanzi has been sequenced by us. Read more about Kanzi and our role in this study.
March 2012
Our recent work on mammalian encephalization published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology.

The Molecular Evolution Laboratory is dedicated to using evolutionary tools to understand the molecular underpinnings of important processes and phenotypes including:
- The biology of pregnancy
- Evolution of genes X environment interactions
- Mammalian phylogenetics
- Rates of nucleotide sequence evolution
- The evolution of the brain
- Primate evolutionary genetics
We use a wide range of approaches to study these and other research topics. Fundamental to all of our studies is the idea that science should be conducted in an open and collaborative atmosphere. Please contact the lab if you are interested in collaborating or training opportunities.
